Worcester this evening, is the first meeting I've been to for pleasure since Punchestown! It's been a long time, but a nice little card to look at for this evening and hopefully will be able to outline a few that can run well. Apart from the National Hunt Flat race at 7pm, each race looks quite reasonable. Below is a race to race analysis of my selections and why I believe they could run a reasonable race:
5.55 The top 3 in the betting here look like they will scrap it out, with some decent form throughout their un-exposed careers. Brassick has ran well at the course in a NHF race so will be familiar with his surroundings, although his hurdles form isn't as good as the other two protagonists. He has always looked like he will be a chaser, but I'm inclined to pass him over for something else. Wiffy Chatsby is a good little horse in his own right, winning well at Stratford and on his handicap debut at Cheltenham, his last two runs not as good, but he could prove the danger to Special Account. A horse who at the start of last season was an unknown, winning well, travelling well and even a 27l loss to The New One at Cheltenham is in there. Has course and distance form and I think he could take the first providing he jumps well enough
6.25 A tough handicap chase, with a few in with chances, even at big prices on their recent form. These Include Handsome Buddy and Noble Witness. Former might be outclassed, but weight looks well and Noble Witness rarely can make it two on the trot with his quirky sort of racing. The selection I'm going for each way is Whispering Jack. The reason being, when I watched him down at Wincanton, he never gave up. He has ran a few times since and even won last time out, however, I think he is a better horse than most of these and if you can get 5/1, 11/2, an each way bet would be of some value in this race for 3 places!
7.00 A tweet will be posted with the bumper selection, as the top 3 in the betting will be looked at, the paddock being the key factor
7.35 Various different types in this claiming hurdle line-up to say the least. Some with ok form lines and some others who should probably stay at home. Descaro of John O'Shea's isn't one to rely on even with his recent form. He is as short at 10/3 and I wouldn't want to be taking that. The two selections in this claiming hurdle however are Super Collider (MAIN) for win purposes and Crescent Beach each way. The former a horse who has shown some decent form, winning 2 on the trot before a 5th just 12 days ago. Paddy Brennan is up on him today and he could prove to be many of the Worcester followers banker today. One that could trouble him is Crescent Beach. Only 6 runs ago, a 4th to Grumeti, albeit it being by a long way. Very small each way hope for him, if the favourite doesn't figure
8.05 A horse that has stood in my memory since his last run 25 days ago was Kadalkin. Travelled like the winner behind the reasonable Otto The Great and Gold Ingot last time out, just failing to have the speed at the end. This pick isn't a confident one however, as I am going on what I think he can achieve in his career. Lightly races for a 7yo and an Interesting sort
8.35 A nice handicap hurdle for the penultimate race with two bigger prices to look at in Sahrati and Carhue Princess. Sahrati won the race last year and goes well fresh with form figures of 2331 after long lay-offs. He could be a nice each way selection. The latter, Carhue Princess hasn't won over hurdles, but form at Stratford behind Feeling and behind Super Collider recently, he could be backed each way on what he has achieved as he could look overpriced come the end of the race. Each way selections, which could both run well
9.10 This race surrounds the favourite, in Tadabeer. Too short for me in the previous form he has shown over hurdles. His flat form is good, but I am looking for a couple to do each way. Feeling and Social Realism will be the two I'm following. Both have reasonable form of late, McCoy's ride had a good run out behind Castlemorris King coming 3rd and he could run well. Feeling either runs well or doesn't, fingers crossed he does. Dai Burchell does well around here, so hopefully the uninspiring win form figures improve
